Vinyl Wrap....layed not sprayed.

These tins are not painted. They are wrapped.  It's been done many times.  This is my first attempt and I was happy to do this for a family member.  Always trying to progress.  If there is a next set to come, hopefully they will be better.

Corvette Z06 Wrap

Watch this car go from one side of the law...to the other.
An unexpected journey for this Z06

We were approached by a full uniformed "law dawg" several months back about a project that had to begin "quietly".  This was a project we had to keep "under wraps".  The information was limited and my interest was peaked.  The only real question put to me was....."Can you wrap a Corvette?"

Regardless of the unanswered questions, we were eager to get started.

This thing is a turbo charged, nitro blasting orange rocket, with carbon fiber and all. Hot cam, Willwood brakes, roll cage, drag strip ready, and street legal?

With possession of the vehicle we began the tedious preparation.

Once the design was approved and material selected, it was time to get wrapping.  There was no room for shortcuts here.  And, we surely did not want to upset this customer. We started with 3M's 1080 series wrapping cast for the black sections.  For the white we decided to use IJ180Cv3 with associated laminate.

Proper heat and and precise trimming played a huge role in this transformation.

This project would include 3 different materials and each one has it's own tolerance level for heat and conformability.  In order to make sure we offered the best level of protection, we provided the industry's most comprehensive warranty.  The 3M MCS Warranty.  As a Certified Installation Company we knew the 3M Wrapping cast would allow for the contours of this vehicle to be wrapped with no discoloration, lifting or adhesive breaks.

As the project neared it's end we knew our customer would be just as excited about the big reveal as we were.

But Something tells me that the previous owner might not be so excited.

This is like when you were a kid and you found that special edition Hot Wheels, way at the back of the store shelf.  And when you got it home
...you didn't want anyone to play with it!

Even though we hated to let this one go, I can't wait to see it on the road.

Thank you to the fine men and women of the New Braunfels Police Dept.
We are proud to be a part of the community and this project.

Clutch'n ain't easy...now you know.

When it hurts to hold on, then it's time to let go. Unless you are talking about something you love. Something in your blood.  Forever two wheelin'.
I recently had a few minor health issues affecting my ability to ride. Issues minor enough that we need not focus on them.  My point is, it litteraly debilitated my riding as I knew it. I could not pull my clutch lever.  Clutch'n ain't easy....now you know.
Thanks to the thoughtful actions of some great buds, I can ride.
Aaron at Blue Collar Bike Werks, Chris at Basket Case Garage and last but certainly not least..... Kris at The New Braunfels Yacht Club recognized an opportunity to help a brother out. These guys are not big on attention or recognition, but they need to know that this is one of the coolest acts of random fuckin kindness that I've ever been on the receiving end of.
With the help of my wife and kids....and some friendly neighborhood watch, my bike was secretly removed from mi casa, and taken to the cool side of town for a few minor changes and upgrades.  Operation Underground Hustle resulted in a new EZ pull clutch lever and other adjustments. This was all done while I was on a long weekend at the coast with my familia. As I returned, my bike was just the way I left it, or so I thought.
Man, the last thing I expected was to be able to ride virtually pain free.
Especially after a long road trip home from the coast.  As we got closer to home my wife suggested I go for a ride to relax. I'm thinking she's making some cheap joke because of my driving.  But really, it was part of Operation Underground Hustle.  Unbeknownst to me... The bike was secretly placed back in my garage waiting for a satciary twist of the throttle.  And dam, did it feel good.
Thanks guys. You fuckin rock.
And so what if a few chickens got hurt.
