If it aint white ....Who Cares!

The Census Bureau projects that by 2043, the United States will have a majority-minority population for the first time in its history. In a piece in The New York Times, columnist Charles Blow writes that this demographic shift is one we should meet with "as much ease and grace as we can muster.  "TALK OF THE NATION
This month, the Census Bureau released new data showing that white people will make up less than half the U.S. population just 30 years from now. According to census projections, non-Hispanic whites will still be the largest group by 2043, but people of color will collectively outnumber them. New York Times columnist Charles Blow writes that this browning of America has already happened in many cities. And he raises questions about how this demographic shift will affect race relations and power dynamics in our society.-NPR, Interview by Ari Shapiro, Story by Charles Blow

MY TAKE
It is predicted that in the next 30 years "white People" will be the minority. Although the ethnicity of "whiteness" is truly not a definition of race.  There is much speculation and uneasiness surrounding this topic.   When this happens will it now be acceptable for White Pride to be celebrated without the old stigmata of hate groups? We currently celebrate Black History Month, Hispanic History Month, but we do not celebrate White History Month.  The assimilation of non-European cultures to white American culture has been viewed as a sort of awakening, or education of the savages in our history.  I think the celebration of blacks and Hispanics is more of a preservation of culture. The collective culture of whites in America has evolved without notice. The result of the evolution of white American culture is a dimishment of European culture once abundant in America.

After reading and listening to this story I feel like the real issue is an issue of culture. White Americans have watered down their own culture as a result of excluding "foreign" cultures, and races. Blacks, Hispanics and Whites will soon all be equal in the sense that our culture as Americans has now been blurred.  I do not think that there will be a need for White  History Month, or Black History Month when America becomes a country of minorities. The experiment of this country's melting pot will finally be complete.  We will all be able to chose what ever culture fits our lifestyle without the weighted pressure of following a certain racial profile.  As our races breed and mix cultures you will see an open acceptance of all cultures and lifestyles.  The diversity of culture will reduce racism. --Life @ 66MPH!

Try the taste test....I dare you.

Don't get me wrong I like a great Hefeweisen, Dark Ale or even the occasional IPA,.  With the right meal a good beer can set it off.   I'm all about good beer at the right moment.  With my budget and lifestyle however, most of the time the moment calls for Keystone  As a regukar "Keystoner" I stand by the fact that for cheap beer this is the best product on the market. This is not a trend...I just like a good shity beer.   I don't care about "drinkability" or weather or not the commercials make me feel cool for drinking it.
This has been my argument regarding Budlight and other trendy beers.  I believe that the average beer consumer is buying because the can matches thier eyes, or some hot chick thinks bud light drinkers are cool.  The point is they have been suckered in.  So if you think I am full of shit try the taste test. You will find that you cannot tell the difference, except for the price.  For about half the price Keystone will knock your dick in the dirt just as quick as bud light, and save you some cash.  The only downside is that most bars don't serve keystone, but I don't like to hang out in most bars anyway.   So stay thirsty my friend, or stay trendy you scab...or drink up...here's to the high life or something like that.....Wax the fence, Pull the wagon....Life @ 66 Miles Per Hour!

Art by Grizz

Keeping it real...Grizz has been doing work in town since I can remember.  This dude was driving around in painted up vans and trucks before vehicle wraps were around.  Old skool cool, and much respect.  I'm looking for an old piece he worked on with my late uncle Ramon.....when I find this old sign, I'd like to have 'ol Grizzly touch it up.
